Surprising Result for Chelation Therapy: TACT

This ACC news brief explores the result of the TACT study.  This study was a randomized clinical trial (2×2 factorial design with interventions: controls- oral and intravenous placebo; active treatments:- multivitamin and multimineral oral therapy, intravenous chelation therapy) in patients with coronary artery disease (age\ge 50 with history of myocardial infarction \ge 6 weeks and creatinine < 176.8 µmol/L/L). The primary end-point  the composite of  all-cause mortality, MI, stroke, coronary revascularization,and hospitalization for angina.
